Children return to school August 31. School openings and closings vary by counties and states also. Also it depends on the snow days,if not used get out earlier!! I am planning a daily schedule, similar to school, since my 9 year old son does better when his day is planned and he can follow a set schedule. It won't be all work, but we will be doing Math, reading, and some fun science projects to keep him stimulated and engaged. Otherwise, it's Bionicles or Legos and computer. :-( Our year end June 18, and begins the second week of September.

I am planning a daily schedule, similar to school, since my 9 year old son does better when his day is planned and he can follow a set schedule. At least my son has a day camp geared toward autistic spectrum kids and typically developing peers that will start next week (yay!). Most people aren't so fortunate to have that kind of resource. Here in the Northeast, kids get out sometime in June (mine are finished the 18th and the 24th)and start back between the last week of August and the first week of September (mine return Sep.9).
